UPSEE - 2018
The Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination (UPSEE Exam 2018-2019) is a state level entrance examination for admission into engineering institutions and other degree professional degree colleges coming under the purview of Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (formerly U.P Technical University). The examination is held by the AKTU University. Admission for undergraduate as well as post graduate courses such as B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Arch, B.Des, BFAD, BFA, MBA, MCA, Integrated MBA etc are on offer.  
The applications are to be submitted online at the website.

IMPORTANT DATES

The following the important dates regarding the examination process as notified Central Admission Board (CAB) of the University:
  • Date of applying for the Examination (opening) : 23.01.2018 (11 AM)
  • Date of applying for the Examination (closing) : 15.03.2018 (5 PM)
  • Date of Examinations : 29.04.2018 (UG Entrance), 05.05.2018 & 06.05.2018 (PG Entrance)

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

The eligibility conditions for various courses under the AKTU University are not uniform. The eligibility norms in a nutshell are as under:
  • B.Tech, B.Des, MCA (Intergrated) - candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/ University or the U.P. Board’s Intermediate Examination securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) and should have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects (passed without grace) and one additional optional subject (such as Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology etc)
  • B.Pharm - candidates should have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized Board/ University or the U.P. Board’s Intermediate Examination securing minimum 45% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) and should have Physics & Chemistry as compulsory subjects (passed without grace) and one additional subject (such as Mathematics, Biotechnology, Biology etc)
  • B.Arch - a candidate must have clearly passed intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10 + 2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University and securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate and should have passed without grace in the compulsory subjects Physics and Mathematics and one optional subject (such as Chemistry, Computer Science, Biology, Engineering Drawing)
  • B.Tech (Agri) - a candidate must have clearly passed intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board /University in agricultural subjects and secured minimum 45% marks without grace (40% marks for SC/ST category candidates) in aggregate
  • MBA & MCA - a candidate must have passed Bachelors degree course of three years minimum duration from any recognized Indian University; or its equivalent, recognized by A.I.U securing minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in aggregate. For only MCA candidates, they must have passed Mathematics at 10+2 level or Graduation level.

SEAT ALLOCATION FOR DIFFERENT INSTITUTIONS

  • The Government of Uttar Pradesh has permitted 15% of total sanctioned seats available in Private Institutions to be filled by the Management quota /NRI candidates.
  • The Government of Uttar Pradesh has permitted that 10% of the total sanctioned seats for admission in first year in Technology / Architecture courses in Private Institutions, affiliated to AKTU, shall be opened to the candidates whose parent belongs to the State other than Uttar Pradesh and has passed qualifying examination from an Institution located outside U.P. These seats shall be filled on the basis of UPSEE-2018 Merit List.
  • As far as Government/ Government Aided/ Govt. Self Financed Institutes are concerned, 100% seats in all courses in first year will be filled by UPSEE-2018 qualified candidates
  • NRI candidates, who possess prescribed qualifications may get direct admission on 5% seats of total intake in Govt. / Govt. aided and Private Institutions having approval from AICTE for NRI seats on merit, subject to the latest instructions of Govt. of U.P and need not appear in UPSEE-2018 subject to certain conditions.

EXAMINATION FEES

Rs. 1300 for Male/Transgender candidates of General & OBC category and Rs. 650 for Female / Physically Handicapped candidates of all categories / SC/ST candidates

EXAMINATION PATTERN, SCORING,RESULTS AND CUT-OFF

  • The Examination will be based on the pen and paper mode using OMR Sheets as well as computer based. The arrangement is such that Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4 shall be OMR based Test only and Paper 5, Paper 6, Paper 7, Paper 8, Paper 9, Paper 10 and Paper 11 will be Computer Based Test. There is no negative marking  in the examination. Every objective multiple type question would carry four marks for each correct answer.

B.Tech (Agriculture Engineering) only Paper 3 - AG-I, AG-II and AG-III 600 - 150 questions x 4; 50 Q's in each of the 3 sections
B.Arch
  • Paper 4 - Aptitude Test for Architecture & Design
  • Part-A - Mathematics and Aesthetic Sensitivity
  • Part-B - Drawing Aptitude
  • 50 objective type questions each of Mathematics and Aesthetic Sensitivity with total of 100 questions & 2 questions to test drawing aptitude 
  • Total = 500
Lateral Entry
  • B.Tech. 2nd Year (for Engg. Diploma Holders)
  • B.Pharm 2nd Year (for Pharmacy Diploma Holders)
  • B.Tech. 2nd Year (for B. Sc. Graduates)
  • Paper 6 - Aptitude Test for Diploma Holders in Engineering (Lateral Entry)
  • Paper 7 - Aptitude Test for Diploma Holders in Pharmacy (Lateral Entry)
  • Paper 8 - Aptitude Test for B.Sc. Graduates in Engineering (Lateral Entry)
75 Q's of 300 Marks
MBA / MCA
  • Paper 9 - Aptitude Test for MBA
  • Paper 10 - Aptitude Test for MCA
100 Q's of 400 Marks
2nd Year MCA (Lateral Entry) Paper 11 - Aptitude Test for 2nd Year MCA (Lateral Entry) 100 Q's of 400 Marks

  • The results of UPSEE-2018 will be declared in the first week of June 2018
  • The cut-off percentage of marks in UPSEE-2018 for the merit of successful candidates is 25% (20% for SC/ST) as per UP State Govt. Order
