  • About CAA Coastal Aquaculture Authority
  • CAA was set up under informed vide Gazette Notification. The principle target of the Authority is to direct beach front aquaculture exercises in waterfront zones so as to persevere through supportable improvement without making harm the seaside environment. The Authority is enabled to make directions for the development and operation of aquaculture ranches in beach front regions, investigation of homesteads to find out their natural effect, enlistment of aquaculture ranches, settling models for inputs and effluents, expulsion or pulverization of seaside aquaculture ranches, which cause contamination and so on.
  • Exercises and Achievements of the Authority
  • One of the real assignments achieved by the CAA was the enlistment of shrimp ranches on the proposals of the State and District Level Committees constituted for this reason. Other than clearing the applications for enlistment, the Authority examined numerous basic issues, for example, standards for enrollment of incubation centers, anti-toxin buildups in shrimp, norms for probiotics and food, HTL and Inter Tidal regions, Environment Impact Assessment, stocking thickness and so forth. According to the rules informed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, the group constituted by CAA reviewed 50 incubators and the board of trustees constituted by the Ministry allowed 24 incubators to import SPF L.vannamei broodstock and in addition for seed generation and offer of post hatchlings to the enrolled ranches.
